Open auditions Tuesday and Wednesday, March 5th and 6th, 2024 , 6 to 8 pm, for new members of the Actors Guild of Schuylkill County's FOREVERMORE PLAYERS. The Forevermore Players are the resident acting troupe for the theater's 2024 Enchanted Valley Fairy and Pirate Festival.
This year's festival is happening on Saturday, June 22th, 2024 at the Good Will #4 Grove in Pottsville, Pa. from 12 noon to 6 pm.
Our story this year: THE PIRATE AND MERMAID WARS!!
The Forevermore Players troupe blends improv and street theater with enchanting and colorful characters who perform and interact throughout the day with festival goers. Actors of all experience levels are invited to audition. We are especially looking for new pirates and Mer-folk as well as other fantasy characters, including a Dragon Master.
Actors create and develop their character based on plot guidelines and roam the festival bringing the story to life. There is a different story told each festival. There are new characters and returning characters every year.
In addition to improvisation, the Forevermore Players also have staged performances during the festival day. These performances follow the story line. Some Forevermore Players with special skills, talents, and motivation may also be involved in other scheduled stage shows. Some roles may require memorization of lines.
New Forevermore Players will attend two orientation workshops focusing on the how the festival operates, the current story, how each character fits in, basic character development, and beginning improv skills. These workshops will occur prior to actual rehearsals for the show.
Costuming and personal accessories are the actors responsibility.
The Forevermore Players are an ensemble troupe. We welcome new actors of all experience levels to join us in the fun of street theater and festival acting.
Auditions open to actors 16 and above. All new actors must be available for the orientation workshops so you are ready to join us at our first festival rehearsal. Actors must have reliable transportation to the orientation workshop, rehearsals, and the festival on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
The Orientation workshops for new Forevermore Players will take place in early April. The actual show rehearsals with the entire Forevermore Players troupe will take place beginning the end of April through June's festival date.
